When to visit

The best time to visit Barbados is from December to April, during the dry season. This period offers warm, sunny days with low humidity and minimal rainfall, ideal for enjoying the island’s beaches, outdoor activities, and festivals. As it’s the peak tourist season, expect lively events and activities, though it can get quite touristy.

For a balance of good weather and fewer crowds, consider visiting in the shoulder months of May and June.

The rainy season, from June to November, brings more frequent showers, especially in the later months. However, Barbados lies outside the main hurricane belt, so while there may be occasional storms, it’s generally less affected by hurricanes compared to other Caribbean islands.

How to get there

To get to Barbados, the primary entry point for international travelers is Grantley Adams International Airport, located in Christ Church near the capital city, Bridgetown.

There are numerous direct flights to Barbados from major cities worldwide, especially from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Cities with frequent direct flights to Barbados include New York, Miami, London, Toronto, and Frankfurt, while connecting flights are offered through major hubs in the U.S. (like Miami or New York) or Caribbean cities (such as Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, or Antigua).
