When to visit
The best time to visit Belize is from late November to mid-April, during the dry season. This period offers warm, sunny days with minimal rain, ideal for exploring Belize’s beaches, Mayan ruins, and outdoor adventures like snorkeling in the Belize Barrier Reef. This is also peak tourist season, so expect more visitors.
For fewer crowds, consider the shoulder months of May and early November. May is generally dry, though warmer, while early November can bring light rain but still enjoyable conditions.
The rainy season, from June to October, brings higher humidity and heavier rainfall, especially in coastal and jungle areas. Outdoor activities may be affected, particularly in August and September, which are also peak hurricane months.
How to get there
To get to Belize, most international travelers fly into Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport, located in Ladyville, about 10 miles from Belize City. There are direct flights to Belize from several cities in the United States (including Miami, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Los Angeles), as well as from Canada, Mexico, and Central America, with connecting flights for travelers coming from other regions offered from cities like Miami, Houston, or Dallas, as well as from Central American hubs like Panama City and San Salvador.
