When to visit
The best time to visit the Bahamas is from mid-December to mid-April, during the dry season. This period offers warm, sunny days with little rainfall, making it ideal for beach activities, water sports, and sightseeing. It’s also the peak tourist season.
For fewer crowds, the shoulder months of late April and early May are also a good option.
While the summer months (June to November) bring warmer temperatures, this is also the Atlantic hurricane season, which can bring increased rainfall and the potential for storms, particularly in August and September.
How to get there
To get to the Bahamas, most travelers will fly into Lynden Pindling International Airport, located in Nassau, the capital city on New Providence Island.
Many airlines offer direct flights to Nassau from major cities in the U.S. (such as Miami, New York, Atlanta, and Orlando) with connecting flights through major U.S. hubs like Miami, Fort Lauderdale, or Atlanta. These cities provide frequent flights to Nassau, as well as other Bahamian islands.
